Arlington wasn’t named 2019’s fittest suburban city in America for nothing.
The city has an array of accessible parks and swimming pools, and based on the report by The American College of Sports Medicine and Anthem Foundation, an estimated 92.6% of Arlington residents have exercised in some form within the past 30 days.
Now, Gateway Park in Rosslyn will feature a one-day interactive representation of Arlington’s fitness culture with the Discover Arlington Fitness + Wellness Festival on Sunday, Sept. 15.
From noon to 4 p.m., attendees can try mini workout sessions from various studios across the city and the DMV; experience other wellness services, such as yoga, meditation and massages; and grab food and drink samples from a variety of wellness product vendors (some of which will have other items available for purchase on-site).
The first 500 attendees will get a swag bag filled with free class cards, samples and goodies from vendors, such as a free class at Xtend Barre Arlington, $2-off smoothie cards from South Block, a $10-off coupon at Bakefully Yours and more.
Everyone will receive a “passport” that can be filled out throughout the event, and if guests visit more than half of the vendors/participating studios, they’ll be entered into a raffle for more fitness-themed prizes.
Participating locations include Spark Yoga (named runner-up for best yoga studio in our Best of NoVA 2019 issue), CycleBar, Gold’s Gym and District Wellness, just to name a few. The event is hosted by Discover the District and Discover Arlington. // Gateway Park: 1300 Lee Highway, Arlington; $32
