First Bite: ‘Settle Down Easy’ for Inventive Pub Fare at This New Oakton Brewery

Craft brews are complemented by unexpected, locally sourced bites in a cozy neighborhood atmosphere.

Settle Down Easy Brewing Company just opened its nano-brewing operation in Oakton, and eager locals are coming out en masse for the experience. Catering to discriminating craft beer consumers with an approachable selection of high-quality specialty brews and seasonal varietals, the brewery is already winning loyal fans.

Keeping things local, the establishment partnered with The Fermented Pig for cuisine. This Vienna-based maker of quality sausage, dry-cured bacon, and charcuterie offers an inventive menu with top-rate fare — this is not your average pub food.

Sample the Himalayan dumplings, goat cheese and beet salad, or Thai chickpea soup to start. Where else can you order grilled scallops with a craft beer? The Fermented Pig’s entrees are appealing, displaying meat-savvy style with classic bratwurst, a local grilled chicken sandwich, petite tender steak, or a grass-fed burger. The house-cured charcuterie plate is a home run as well.

The Fermented Pig has a shingle out at Wolf Trap and has homed in their menu to cater to the brewery crowd here.

This craft brewery is a family-friendly spot, with multiple big screen televisions showcasing college football games. Settle down at this promising neighborhood joint with a thoughtful, locally sourced, and delivered-fresh daily menu. 2952 Chain Bridge Rd., Oakton
