80+ Restaurants Participate in Alexandria Restaurant Week

Restaurants across Alexandria are planning specials in three price points for restaurant week.

Smoked duck breast at Ada’s on the River. Jambalaya pasta at Auggie’s Mussel House. Caribbean Curry–Style Shrimp at The Study. Those are just a few of the specials you will see during Alexandria Restaurant Week.

From Friday, January 19, through Sunday, January 28, more than 80 restaurants throughout Old Town, Del Ray, Carlyle, Eisenhower, and the West End will offer prix fixe dinners for $30, $40, or $50.

Alexandria holds restaurant week twice a year, and the three-tier price structure comes after feedback from the summer promotion.

The restaurant week website lets you search for meals by price and by neighborhood.

The Alexandria restaurants that are on our 50 Best Restaurants 2023 list will participate in Alexandria Restaurant Week.

Thompson Italian will offer three starter options, three entrée choices, and two dessert picks for $50 a person. The entrées are gnocchi, rigatoni, and dorade “al cartoccio,” a fish selection wrapped in foil.

For $40 per person, you have multiple three-course meals from which to choose at Virginia’s Darling. The entrées include sole munière (sole in brown butter with capers), Bolognese, mushroom ragu, and a New York strip that will cost an extra $20.

Kismet Modern Indian offers four starter choices; seven entrée options, including butter chicken and slow-cooked lentils in cream and butter; and two vegetarian-friendly dessert picks for $50 per person.

The Study also has seven entrées, two of which feature octopus. The Run Down Stew has scallops, octopus, clams, fish, and purple sweet potatoes, while the Octopus Chicharron is a deep-fried octopus with roasted baby beets. The restaurant week specials are $50 a meal.

The $50 specials at Ada’s on the River include hanger steak, blackened rockfish, and smoked duck breast.

Among the restaurants offering the $30 dinners are Theismann’s Restaurant & Bar, Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, and Zuki Moon.
