Get ready to taste your way through one of NoVA’s most vibrant neighborhoods to a soundtrack of local music. The second annual Ballston Quarterfest Crawl is one of the first in-person festivals to take place this season, and we’re ready to dig in.
From noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, restaurants around Ballston will be hosting musical performances and offering food and drink samples and specials to bring long-sequestered locals and guests out to enjoy what they do best. Quarterfest is the signature event of BallstonGives, which benefits Homeward Trails Animal Rescue. That means that outdoor seating and an al fresco scavenger hunt caters to pups who are ready to get out of the house, too.
So what’s on the menu? Sandwich specialist Superette, inside Ballston Quarter, is serving up samples of homemade chips and dip along with $5 frosé. Stay in the underground food hall for dessert, a sampling of creative flavors of premium ice cream from Ice Cream Jubilee. Looking for more than just a taste? They’re offering 20-percent-off single scoops and pints. Among the nine participating restaurants, there are also deals from Bronson Bierhall, World of Beer, and We, the Pizza.
Performances also take place at food businesses. For example, SER hosts Americana artist Karen Jonas, as well as singer-songwriter Claire Show. Guests will also be entertained all day at Compass Coffee by a giant chess set.
For those who are ready to be out and about, this could be the opportunity to experience a bit of delicious normality.
