6 Best Deals for Metropolitan Washington Summer Restaurant Week 2020

Our critic shares her picks for the best places to get a prix fixe menu this weekend and next week.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Metropolitan Washington Summer Restaurant Week 2020 is in full swing. If you haven’t made your reservations yet, it’s time. The event runs through Sunday, Aug. 30, so you have a lot of dining to do in the next several days. Not sure where to eat? I’ve put together a list of some of the best menus I’ve found in NoVA.

Bastille

For $35, choose either a starter or salad, entree and dessert, or a starter and salad with entree. Main dishes include duck breast and steak frites, which normally cost $27 and $25, respectively. Getting a great deal will make your profiteroles au chocolat or peaches and cream taste all the sweeter. // 606 N. Fayette St., Alexandria

Blend 111

Celebrate Restaurant Week Latin style with a $35 dinner menu that starts with arepitas stuffed with queso fresco. Entrees include beet quinotto, sustainable scallops and tamarind-glazed ribs. Finish with a plantain cake sweetened with chocolate cremeux. //111 Church St. NW, Suite 101, Vienna

Lyon Hall

Feeling limited with the pre-selected menus? For $35, Lyon Hall is allowing diners to choose any app, entree and dessert from the entire menu. It also has Restaurant Week To-Go options for $60 for two. Either way, it sounds like time for Black Forest Gâteau to me. //3100 Washington Blvd., Arlington

PassionFish

PassionFish also offers its whole menu at dinner, for $55. But I’m even more impressed with the $22 lunch deal. The three-course menu unsurprisingly focuses on fish, with entrees like a
rainbow trout meunière amandine and shrimp and grits. //11960 Democracy Drive, Reston

Randy’s Prime Seafood & Steaks

The $55 menu here is a grand entry point to this Great American Restaurants crown jewel. Start with ahi tuna tartare or classic shrimp cocktail. There’s a list of entrees that includes halibut, scallops and branzino, but you’re at a steakhouse. I say order the filet mignon with duck-fat fries.

Ser

While the $25 lunch and $35 dinner have lots of appealing options in their three courses, I’m more excited about the $55 dinner. That five-course meal takes diners on the “Ser Journey,” a trip around Spain in the form of creamy croquettes, gambas al ajillo and churros dipped in chocolate mousse. //1110 N. Glebe Road, Arlington
