When it comes to Northern Virginia’s wineries, there are always the classic staples that we know and love, but that doesn’t mean the newcomers don’t deserve some attention. If you’re looking to find a new spot in NoVA where you can relax with a nice glass of vino, check out some of the wineries and wine bars that have opened in recent years. Here are five of the most recent additions to check out — plus one that’s on the horizon.
Good Spirit Farm
This 42-acre winery opened the doors to its tasting room in March 2023, and it’s been impressing people with its Virginia-grown wine since then. Relax in the tasting room with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains (it’s open to visitors from noon to 7 p.m. Fridays to Sundays) while you sip away. It offers wine by the flight or the bottle and snacks like charcuterie and pretzel bites. 35113 Snickersville Tpk., Round Hill
Crimson Lane Vineyards
Crimson Lane has only been open since 2023, but over a decade of work went into perfecting the wine and the atmosphere. Grapes are carefully cultivated on the 166 acres of land in Linden. Wine enthusiasts will enjoy the elevated tasting experiences. Reservations are required, and no pets or children are allowed. 13334 Crimson Ln., Linden
Negus Wines
Give your tastebuds something new with the tej, or Ethiopian honey wine, at this Alexandria winery that opened early this year. Similar to mead, tej is a fermented beverage made of raw honey and yeast. Negus also offers grape wines. Try flights with a combination of both types. 5509 Vine St., Alexandria
Curio Wine Bar
The owner of Rogers Ford Farm Winery opened a new wine bar in Fredericksburg in summer 2023, where visitors can find offerings from Rogers Ford on tap, plus other wines from around the world. The wine bar uses a self-pour tap system. All wines on tap are also sold in bottles so you can take your favorites home. This is a 21 or older establishment. 209 William St., Fredericksburg
Sixty Vines
While it’s not a winery, this Reston Town Center newcomer has tap options to satisfy any wine lover’s tastes. Find whites, reds, rosés, and sparkling wines here from the world’s wine regions. Pair a glass with flatbreads, charcuterie, and shared plates. 11905 Market St., Reston
Coming Soon
Stone Tower Winery Tasting Room
Leesburg’s Stone Tower Winery will soon take its wines to a new tasting room downtown. The new spot will be in the historic bank building at the corner of Market and King streets. While there’s no official opening date yet, the owners announced the plans with a pop-up during Leesburg’s Flower & Garden Festival in April. King and Market streets, Leesburg
