Celebrate Valentine’s Day This Year at These NoVA Wineries

Sip wine paired with a variety of tasting menus (and even with crafting) at these vineyards.

By Megan Perry January 29, 2024 at 1:08 pm

You can choose to pair your wine with something sweet like chocolate or cheesecake, add a little romance with a tasting inside a cave, or craft some decorations with your friends or family. Whichever option you choose, you really can’t go wrong celebrating Valentine’s Day at one of Northern Virginia’s many stunning wineries.

Just be sure to grab your tickets early!

Boxwood Estate Winery: Cupid’s Cave

February 9–14

Turn up the romance inside Cupid’s Cave at Boxwood Estate Winery in Middleburg. This experience, set inside the winery’s cozy cave, features four Boxwood wines paired with carefully curated hors d’oeuvres including Pacific salmon Florentine, duck confit spring rolls, baked pear in Phyllo, and a three-layer chocolate mousse cake. Attendees also take home a gift bag with a wine charm, chocolate bar, a Boxwood wine glass, and a half bottle of Trellis 2020. Reservations are for 90 minutes and tickets are available for $75 per person. 2042 Burrland Ln., Middleburg

The Vineyards & Winery at Lost Creek: Valentine’s Day Tasting Menu & Wine Pairing

February 10 & 11, times vary

Grab your date and head to The Vineyards & Winery at Lost Creek for a special tasting and wine pairing. Beginning with a Los Monteros Cava Brut Sparkling Rosé, the menu will take you through four courses, including oyster chowder, an arugula salad, pan seared sea scallops, and a triple chocolate tart — each paired with a special wine selection from Lost Creek. Tickets can be purchased for $85 per person. 43285 Spinks Ferry Rd., Leesburg

Bluemont Vineyard: Galentine’s Day Brunch at the Stable

February 10 & 18, times vary

Nothing screams Galentine’s Day like brunch does. Who needs a date when you have your girls? For $59 per person, enjoy a three-course brunch featuring farm fresh produce and herbs straight from the vineyard’s sister property Great Country Farms (as well as other local farms). Wine, mimosas, and red sangria will also be available during this event. 18755 Foggy Bottom Rd., Bluemont

Kalero Vineyard: Chocolate & Wine Pairing

February 11, 2–3 p.m.

Can you imagine a better pairing than chocolate and wine? Back for its second year, and by popular demand, the Kalero Vineyard Chocolate & Wine Pairing will be held the Sunday before Valentine’s Day. Wine selections will be paired with chocolates from The Conche Chocolate & Cake Studio and the event is hosted by a sommelier from The Robins Cellar, a Richmond-based wine distributor. Tickets are $40 per person. 36140 Charles Town Pike, Purcellville

Good Spirit Farm Winery: Wine Cork Heart Wreaths

February 11, 1–3 p.m.

Round up the girls and head to Good Spirit Farm Winery for an afternoon of wine and crafting. You can make a beautiful heart-shaped wreath out of wine corks during this special event. Tickets are on sale now for $45. 35113 Snickersville Tpk., Round Hill

Casanel Vineyards: Wine and Cheesecake Pairing

February 9–11

Chocolate isn’t the only dessert that pairs well with wine. Head to Casanel Vineyards & Winery to enjoy a selection of four Casanel wines along with four types of cheesecake from Cheesecake Bean. This event is offered at varying times and runs about 90 minutes. Tickets for various timeslots can be purchased for $44 each. 17952 & 17956 Canby Rd., Leesburg
