First Bite: Reston’s Davio’s Is the First in the Mid-Atlantic. Its Opening Night Put Guests at the Forefront

One of our critics headed out to the Northern Italian steakhouse on opening night to find amazing service and mouthwatering specialties.

Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse at Reston Metro Plaza, which opened November 2, indulgently caters to guests’ every whim.

Well-trained waiters stand ready to serve creative cocktails, curated wines, and superior cuisine. Save your pennies to dine here, but expect a bucket-list experience that delivers an elegant setting with masterful dining. This is the first location in the mid-Atlantic for this Boston-based restaurant group.

Davio’s Reston Station presents an array of carefully sourced and seasonally inspired Italian cuisine featuring homemade pastas, fresh salads, and prime steaks. The chicken sausage appetizer with sweet pear Mostarda and drizzled port wine is Davio’s specialty and more than worthy. Guests can’t go wrong with the 16-ounce, 55-day prime aged ribeye — perfectly cooked and delivering rich, buttery flavor — available with five signature sauces. The lump crab cakes set the gold standard, offering bountiful flaky crab meat and enhanced with a light lemon herb sauce. Side dishes like inventive Brussels sprouts and Broccolini provide perfect additions, but don’t miss the crispy onion rings for a brilliant balance of tenderness and crunch.
