Yelp Names 3 Northern Virginia Restaurants on List of 100 Best in U.S.

See which restaurants landed on the annual ranking.

Northern Virginia restaurants are getting national recognition. Yelp has released its Top 100 US Restaurants list, and it included three Northern Virginia spots: Fountain Grill, Chay, and Matt and Tony’s.

The annual list compiles the highest-rated restaurants, cafés, food halls, and more, as reviewed by Yelp users. According to the methodology, Yelp compiled businesses in the restaurant category, then ranked them on factors such as volume and ratings of reviews. Every business on the list had to have a passing health score as of November 2025.

Nationally, Yelp noted a few trends that have emerged on the list, including comfort-focused “grandma-core” meals, sandwiches for dinner, and a strong showing of breakfast and brunch restaurants on the list.

Chay was the highest-ranked restaurant in NoVA, at No. 68 on the list. Chay is a vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant in Falls Church, offering meatless versions of dishes like pho, vermicelli, and shaky “beef.”

Next in NoVA is Ashburn’s Fountain Grill, an American restaurant and bar. It ranked No. 78.

Matt and Tony’s All Day Kitchen + Bar took the No. 100 spot. Located in Alexandria, Matt and Tony’s is an American eatery offering dinner and brunch, as well as a menu of craft cocktails.

No. 1 overall on the list was Ci Siamo, an Italian restaurant in New York City. Taste of Texas in Houston was No. 2, followed by NAM Kitchen in Gardena, California, at No. 3.
