From chain restaurants to a local food hall, these NoVA establishments have either recently closed or announced that they are closing soon.
Applebee’s
The Applebee’s location in Warrenton has closed after 30 years in business, according to Fauquier Now. There are still locations in Front Royal, Stafford, and Fredericksburg. 105 W. Lee Highway, Warrenton
The Block Food Hall
After opening in 2016, The Block Food Hall in Annadale will cease operations in August. According to WTOP News, the Block, along with Kimen Ramen, Chicken Pelicana, and B-Thrifty, are closing to make room for a new apartment complex. The food hall features five vendors: Balo Kitchen, Bold Dumpling, The Block Bar, Pokeworks Co., and SnoCream Company. 4221 John Marr Dr., Annandale
Brew Republic Bierworks
After nearly nine years in business, Brew Republic Bierworks will close at the end of July. The brewery released a closure announcement stating that the landlord had terminated its lease. It said that the cost of relocation and the “distressed nature of the brewery and restaurant industries” contributed to the decision to close permanently. 15201 Potomac Town Pl., Woodbridge
California Tortilla
The Reston California Tortilla, located in the North Point Village Center, closed back in April, according to The Burn. This closure follows the closings of the Leesburg location in 2018 and the Sterling location in 2017. There are now only two locations left in NoVA — one in Ashburn and one in Tysons. 1470 North Point Village Center, Reston
Casa D’Mama Pizzaria
After more than 40 years in business, Casa D’Mama appears to be permanently closed, according to Annandale Today. 7406 Little River Turnpike, Annandale
China Wok
China Wok, located in Pike 7 Plaza, served customers for the last time in June before closing its doors for good. A sign on the restaurant window thanks customers for their support over the years and informed of the upcoming closure, stating that the owners were looking forward to retirement. 8395 Leesburg Pike, Tysons
Rice Culture
The Rice Culture location in Tysons Corner Center appears to have closed. You can still visit the other NoVA locations in Chantilly and Vienna for Taiyaki and soft serve. 7870 Tysons Corner Ctr., McLean

Scruffy Ice Cream Shop
After 37 years of business, Scruffy Ice Cream shop served its last customers in April. The location, however, remains a spot for sweet treats under a new name, Piedmont Drip & Dip Co., opened by local restaurateur Nikki Shugar. 6 W. Washington St., Middleburg
Social House Kitchen and Tap
This popular restaurant located in Ashburn’s Goose Creek Village was replaced with Makers Union Pub, another restaurant from Thompson Restaurants, which officially opened July 15. 42841 Creek View Plz. #145, Ashburn
Woodlawn Press Winery
Woodlawn Press Winery announced on their website that they will be permanently closing their tasting room doors on July 26. The owners said they were closing the urban micro winery after six years to transition to Pittsburgh to join and operate family businesses there. 8733-B Cooper Rd., Alexandria
