Reston’s new café, De Clieu Coffee & Sandwich, opened its doors to a steady stream of customers Tuesday morning.
The additional location for this Fairfax eatery, a partnership between Chang Koh and Jade Lee, is a renovated building at 2235 Soapstone Drive. The space had once housed a dry cleaner, but sat empty for years.
Customers remarked on the bright, large space inside. Some had walked the nearby Reston Association paths with kids in strollers to visit the new space.

De Clieu serves Intelligentsia Coffee, and the drink menu includes drip or pourover coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and specialty drinks. It also offers smoothies and gelato.
There are several options for breakfast sandwiches, like the Jack of All Trades, made with sausage, egg, bacon, cheddar, spinach, tomato, and aoili on a brioche bun. Pastries, oatmeal, and variety of lunch sandwiches are also available. Both the breakfast and lunch sandwich menus are available all day.
Koh says De Clieu, which will be open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, plans to serve wine in the near future.
The café’s first location is at 10389 Main St., Ste. B, in Fairfax. A location that opened in the Legato area late last year is now separately owned.
