Call Your Mother to Open New Space in Reston

The regional chain’s latest NoVA outpost will take over Bobby’s Bagel Café’s space.

Call Your Mother, the beloved bagel joint and self-proclaimed “Jew-ish deli,” is expanding its NoVA presence even more with a new space set to open soon in Reston’s North Point Village Center.

The new shop will open at 1484 Northpoint Village Ctr. in Reston, where Bobby’s Bagel Café is now, The Washington Business Journal reports. It will take the owners three to four months to get this location up and running.

Call Your Mother began in 2018 with its first shop in DC’s Park View neighborhood and has been rapidly expanding throughout the DMV area ever since. At present, there are 10 permanent locations between DC, Maryland, and Virginia — not counting its presence at several area farmers markets — and an additional three in Denver, Colorado.

In NoVA, there are shops in Old Town Alexandria, McLean, and one set to open soon in Vienna. The owners announced the Vienna location, at 205 Maple Ave. E., in March; the 1,400-square-foot space will offer indoor seating and outdoor patio seating. CYM teased an upcoming opening in a recent social media post.

The brand has gained popularity throughout the region for its housemade bagels, which are “somewhere between a classic NY-style bagel and the sweeter, Montreal-style bagels,” according to the company website.

Those bagels are served fresh on their own, topped with a schmear, or used as the base for indulgent breakfast sandwiches, such as the Royal Palm, which comes piled high with cream cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, cucumber, red onions, and capers. The deli also sells lunch sandwiches, plus coffee and pastries.
