A fast-casual chain that specializes in chicken salad joins NoVA’s dining scene this week. Chicken Salad Chick opens its new Falls Church location in the Idylwood Plaza on Wednesday, August 7.
The franchise is known for its multiple variations of chicken salad. There are 12 in total, including the Fancy Nancy, with Fuji apples, grapes, and pecans; the Sassy Scotty, with ranch, bacon, and cheddar cheese; a buffalo version; and a classic version with just chicken, mayonnaise, celery, and a “special seasoning.”
The menu also features extras like broccoli salad, sweet grape salad, and soups, plus sandwiches and entrée salads.
Founders Stacy and Kevin Brown started Chicken Salad Chick in 2008 in Auburn, Alabama, and there are now more than 260 restaurants, including locations in Christiansburg, Hampton, Mechanicsville, Richmond, Norfolk, and, Roanoke.
NoVA resident Devon Chamberlin of Nova Group, LLC, set out to open the Falls Church location with her father and father-in-law. Chamberlin, who worked in the mental health field as a social worker and with Fairfax County Emergency Services, always wanted to be an entrepreneur. She plans to continue to expand the chain throughout Northern Virginia, according to an announcement from the company. Potential new neighborhoods include Arlington, Vienna, McLean, Springfield, and Reston. A Fairfax outpost will be next to open, though the specific location has not yet been announced.
Here are the giveaway opportunities to look forward to in Falls Church this week. There are some restrictions and you will need to download the company’s app ahead of time because there won’t be Wi-Fi on site.:

August 10
- A free stadium cup (with a drink included) for the first 50 guests to purchase a Chick Trio at 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Falls Church location will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
