Leesburg’s Delirium Café Is Closing Its Doors

The restaurant was known for a large tap list of Belgian beers and its distinctive pink elephant logo.

Delirium Café, a restaurant and bar with a prominent presence in downtown Leesburg, is closing, the owners announced in a Facebook post.

“I hoped I’d never have to make this post. We are closing effective this coming weekend,” said the February 27 post. Today, March 1, is the final day the café will be open, The Burn reported. Until it closes, packaged beer and merchandise will be sold at “extreme discount,” Delirium’s post said.

The spot opened in 2017, led by owner Curtis Allred.

“We are honored to have been a part of this business community for almost 7 years. We love our downtown, our Leesburg, and surrounding community,” the Facebook post said. “It’s been a pleasure to serve you all through everything that we’ve collectively gone through, but the reality is that the our time is up. Thank you all for everything.”

The restaurant, located at the corner of South King Street and Loudoun Street, was known for its impressive draft list and memorable for its pink elephant logo. There were over 40 beers on tap, many of the Delirium brand as well as other Belgian and domestic brews.

This was the first licensed U.S. location of Delirium Café, an international brand based in Belgium.

Gringo Gordo Empanadas had recently opened a location in the same building as Delirium and, according to The Burn’s report, will need to seek a new location.

Wild Wood Pizza, another restaurant owned by Allred of Delirium, closed in August 2023 due to financial concerns brought on by the pandemic. The restaurateur still owns and operates the mobile Blue Oven Pizza Co.
