Yelp Named this NoVA Tapas Bar One of the Top 100 Places to Eat in 2024

Head to Arlington to try this award-winning Latin American restaurant.

Yelp has released its annual list of the Top 100 U.S. Restaurants of 2024, and this year one NoVA restaurant made the cut: Sabores Tapas Bar, an Arlington restaurant serving sharable Spanish and Latin American dishes. The restaurant was ranked No. 48 in the list of 100.

Friends Carlos Olarte, Alex Lopéz, and Ernesto Valenzuela opened the restaurant in February 2023 on Columbia Pike in Arlington.

Yelp’s list notes some of the most popular and most photographed items on Sabores’ menu, including the patatas bravas, churrasco with chimichurri, and croquetas de pollo.

Yelp also highlighted comments from some users who enjoyed their meals at Sabores, including Jason V., who said, “I loved how the ingredients were fresh and high quality, making each bite a true delight. Plus, the presentation was beautiful—every dish was a work of art.”

This isn’t the first time Sabores has been recognized as one of the area’s best places to eat. It was named to Northern Virginia Magazine’s 2023 Best Restaurants list.

Sabores was the only Northern Virginia restaurant to make Yelp’s list, but some other honorees are nearby for foodies who don’t mind a drive. Perly’s in Richmond, Ekiben in Baltimore, and Menya Hosaki in Washington, DC, also made the list.
