Chicken + Whiskey Opens in Clarendon

This will be the first Virginia location for the Peruvian chicken restaurant.

By Olivia Garrone June 16, 2023 at 10:33 am

The Peruvian rotisserie joint Chicken + Whiskey opens its first Virginia location in Clarendon Friday.

As part of Friday’s grand opening, the restaurant will offer its signature dish, pollo a la brasa, with two sides for $5. The pollo a la brasas is brined for 12 hours before it’s slowly cooked over wood charcoal and paired with housemade sauces. In the afternoon, the bar will serve happy hour deals until 9 p.m. Raffle prizes include a $150 bar tab, free chicken for a year, and various swag.

The new 5,708-square-foot space has indoor seating for 177 and an outdoor patio that can seat another 46. Chicken + Whiskey is set up with the chicken on the left part of the restaurant and a whiskey bar with 99 whiskeys on the right side. The bar food will include tajin-spiced chicken wings, arepitas, and pollo a la brasa wraps featuring a nacho-cheese crust.

The restaurant’s menu also features sandwiches and salads.

The Clarendon location is the fourth for Chicken + Whiskey. It has two DC locations and one in Columbia, Maryland. 3303 Wilson Blvd., Ste. 111R, Arlington
