Food hall mania makes its way out to the ‘burbs with Streatside, a miniature five-stall court that together is the size of typical strip mall restaurant.

The mix of vendors offers Asian-leaning options: Deep Kachu for classic (pork cutlet) and funky (kimchi, cheese) interpretations of katsu and takoyaki, fried balls filled with octopus; Berry Green for poke and acai bowls; Noodle Road for ramen, udon and yakisoba; The Zert for ice cream, shaved ice, waffles and honey bread, the trendy dessert made with Japanese milk bread; and Two Sons for coffees, smoothies and bubble tea.

The front-runner on a quick lunch trip was The Zert’s honey bread: huge cubes, just toasty enough for some crunch, but still soft and cushy, loved up with some honey and powdered sugar, plated with matcha ice cream, whipped cream, sliced fruit and wafers. // Streatside, 6345 Multiplex Drive, Centreville
