ICYMI: The Michelin Guide awards nine D.C. restaurants with stars

Food news, plus new health claims about chocolate.

Big food week for D.C.: The city’s first Michelin Guide announced its honored restaurants, including two stars for our boldest name: José Andrés. Also, Tom Sietsema‘s Fall Dining Guide is now out, with only a few plugs for Virginia, including two newcomers: Afghan Bistro and Field & Main. [Eater, WaPo]

Oh science. It’s now reported that eating chocolate for breakfast can help people lose weight. [Elite Daily]

Virginia breweries, including Ornery Beer Company and Public House, Ocelot Brewing, Sweetwater Tavern, Port City Brewing Company, Spencer Devon Brewing and Lost Rhino, picked up a slew of awards at last weekend’s Great American Beer Festival. [WCP]

Happy Tart hopes to add a restaurant concept to its storefront in Del Ray. [WBJ]
