Blue Sea Seafood, Shirlington‘s newest restaurant, is having its First Annual Oyster Eating Contest this Saturday at 3 p.m. The restaurant will challenge contestants to eat as many oysters as they can in 15 minutes. First prize is $200, second prize is $100 and third prize is $50. The oysters are fresh from the Chesapeake Bay and purveyed from Capital Seaboard, Captain White’s and Jesse’s Crab Shack at The Wharf in D.C. After the contest, the shells are returned to the ocean (which can be used for oyster restoration projects).

There will be live entertainment and happy hour specials including half-off at the raw bar. / Call to register: 703-888-1892; Blue Sea Seafood, 4251 Campbell Ave. Ste. 101, Arlington
