Northern Virginia sparkling wine lovers have a new reason to cheers. Petit Domaine Sparkling Winery and Estate is now open in Hillsboro.
The winery is operating by reservation-only through October 23. Guests will be seated inside the tasting room and front patio. On Friday, October 24, Petit Domaine will host a 3 p.m. grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tastings, and tours. The winery will then be open for walk-in visits from guests during open hours.
Sparkling Wine and Curated Bites
French for “little estate,” Petit Domaine is dedicated to producing traditional method sparkling wine. During the initial years, while its estate-made wine is in production, the winery has partnered with a Champagne house to produce its wines. It will serve a limited-production portfolio by head winemaker Shai Van Gelder.

In addition to the wine tasting room, Petit Domain will offer a menu developed under the guidance of Michelin-starred chef Eric Ziebold of Kinship and Métier in DC. “It’s an exciting opportunity to be involved with a winery that is as purposeful and intentional about their food program as they are about their sparkling wine,” Ziebold said in a release.

“A sparkling winery brings a different energy to the wine experience,” said J Snyder, a Loudoun native and founder of Petit Domaine. “We are specialists in the wine, but we’re also a place for celebration and an elevated hospitality and lifestyle experience. Our goal is to add that dimension to the region’s already remarkable wine landscape.”
