Cocktail lovers now have a new craft cocktail bar to check out in Old Town and it’s hidden inside Hotel Heron in Old Town Alexandria. The grand opening of Francis Hall will be October 10.
The inside of this hidden gem is decorated in rich jewel tones with velvet and fringe banquettes. The moody spot has a dramatic tented ceiling and a burnished brass bar. Antique mirrors add to the upscale ambiance.

Betty Woodward, the hotel’s director of food and beverage, is behind the concept. She started her career as the head bartender at Oyamel in Washington when agave spirits started gaining traction.
Francis Hall will be open from 6 to 11 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
With its convenient location in Old Town, you can grab a mid-Atlantic–inspired meal at Kiln inside the hotel and follow it up with a handcrafted cocktail at Francis Hall.

The drink menu is sure to satisfy with nearly 30 options that range from approachable to experimental.
Among the options is Frank’s Punch, which combines corn whiskey, mezcal, clementine, and suze.
Or try Francis Hall’s version of the negroni. It served as a frozen sorbet with mezcal, vermouth, citrus, and chocolate. It will be made right at your table with liquid nitrogen added for fun. 699 Prince St., Alexandria
