The time for frosé, slushies, and piña coladas has come and gone. It is now officially fall, and it’s time to enjoy the season with some cocktails that are showcasing the best fall flavors. Here are some enticing fall cocktails you can find around Northern Virginia.
Astro Beer Hall’s Tipalet Old Fashioned
Made with Woodford Reserve bourbon and black walnut bitters, garnished with a dehydrated apple, and smoked with applewood chips, this cocktail is oozing with the essence of fall. The spicy, toasty flavor and scent of the bourbon are enhanced by the nutty bitters and fragrance of apple. It will have you dreaming of cozy fall sweaters and fireplaces. Note that this drink is only available at Astro Beer Hall’s underground bar, 1969. 4001 Campbell Ave., Arlington
The Board Room Game Bar and Brewery’s BR Pumpkin Spice
This list would not be complete without a pumpkin flavored concoction. Behold the BR Pumpkin Spice, which features creamy Bailey’s Irish Cream, Smirnoff vanilla vodka, and pumpkin liqueur. A little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg round out the drink and tie all the flavors together. It’s fall in glass. 925 N. Garfield St., Arlington
Brass Rabbit Pub’s El Conejo
Conejo means rabbit in Spanish, so like all the other the other cocktails at Brass Rabbit, this drink adheres to the restaurant’s bunny theme. El Conejo features two pieces of in-season produce: carrots and pears. They’re cold-pressed with pineapple, turmeric, and ginger, then combined with tequila. With this many seasonal fruits and vegetables, you can almost consider this cocktail to be healthy! 1210 N. Garfield St., Arlington
Nue’s Fire Dragon
Served on rocks, this drink has all the best of the season’s flavors. Mezcal, tequila, and soju are combined with a trio of fall ingredients: pomegranate, prickly pear, and maple orange. Garnished with a wheel of orange, which is whimsically clipped to the beverage with a mini clothespin, this cherry-colored drink is a sweet, sour, and boozy beverage. 44 W. Broad St., Falls Church
Palette 22’s Ceramics & Sculptures
Showcasing the quintessential flavors of fall, this cocktail is a sweet and earthy blend of reposado tequila, cranberry, unfiltered apple cider, and cinnamon. It may be served chilled, but the flavors will warm you up from the inside. 4053 Campbell Ave., Arlington
