Where to Find Great Sushi in NoVA

Celebrate the holiday by visiting one of NoVA’s renowned sushi spots and enjoying a roll (or two).

Sushi is an acquired taste. Northern Virginia’s fine Japanese restaurants offer great options. Here are a few of our favorites.

Aka Sushi

The family-owned Aka Sushi offers assorted nigiri sushi, a wide variety of sashimi, creative rolls, lunch and dinner specials, appetizers, soups, and salads. 10474 Bristow Center Dr., Bristow

Ariake

Ariake offers popular sushi assortments, specials, and a happy hour menu that brings diners back again and again. Sashimi and sushi offerings are plentiful, with a broad menu for every palate. 12184 Glade Dr., Reston; 8708 Little River Tpk., Fairfax

Noku Sushi, Hibachi and Ramen

Noku Sushi, Hibachi and Ramen offers options for fresh sushi, sashimi, rolls, ramens, hibachi, noodles, and katsu dishes. Enjoy a sashimi sampler, vegetarian sushi platter, or tuna lover set. 1607 Village Market Blvd. SE, Ste. 108, Leesburg

Samurai Hibachi Sushi & Bar

Dine for a cause. Military veteran and owner Arcell Mitchell is rolling out a charitable campaign for International Sushi Day. Beginning June 18, Samurai Hibachi Sushi & Bar will release its inventive new summer sushi menu and in June will donate a portion of proceeds to U.S. veterans’ mental health programs. 4603 Duke St., Alexandria

Sushi Prince

Embrace authentic Japanese fare and entertainment at this Fairfax restaurant. Sushi Prince offers a variety of house specialty rolls with delicate sauces, fresh sushi, and traditional Japanese cuisine. The restaurant has over 20 types of sake and more than 75 dishes on its menu. 10256 Main St., Fairfax

Sushi Yoshi

The visually stunning sushi is worth a trip to Vienna. Sushi Yoshi fills up quickly so make a reservation and bring friends to dig into small plates, sushi, tempura, and noodle soups. 101 Church St. NW, Ste. B, Vienna

Tachibana Japanese Restaurant

Tachibana Restaurant and Sushi Bar brings Tokyo to McLean. The restaurant serves fish and seafood from around the world as part of its extensive sushi, sashimi, maki, and sampler platter offerings. The sushi is meticulously prepared, fresh and tasty. 6715 Lowell Ave., McLean

Yume Sushi

Yume Sushi is winner of this year’s Northern Virginia Magazine Best of NoVA award for sushi. Enjoy signature rolls, sushi and sashimi entrees, soups, salads, seafood, and sake — or consider creating your own roll. Alluring tempura options satisfy non-sushi diners. 2121 N. Westmoreland St., Arlington
