The Most Romantic Bars for Valentine’s Day (or Any Date Night) in NoVA

It’s hard to get more romantic than candles, a velvet booth, and two coupe glasses.

Looking for a cocktail bar serving up both delicious drinks and a romantic vibe this Valentine’s Day? Look no further. Love is bound to be in the air at these NoVA-area spots.

Captain Gregory’s

If you’re seeking a romantic spot that is more on the cozy side but with big vibes, Captain Gregory’s may be right up your alley. With the cocktail menu broken into two categories — shaken and stirred, this speakeasy provides a fun, intimate experience for date night. And the drink menu is perfect for Valentine’s Day with drink names like “Petals,” “Berries,” Dark Cherry,” and “Chocolate.” Located inside Elizabeth’s Counter at 804 N. Henry St., Alexandria

WHINO

Maybe you’re looking for a place to grab not only fun cocktails, but great food as well. With amazing shareable plates like the wagyu beef sliders and ricotta gnocchi, you really can’t go wrong. Want to add some adventure to your date? Try the smoked octopus, or grab one of the signature drinks with fun names like “Beam Me Up,” and make a whole evening of it by checking out WHINO’s art gallery. 4238 Wilson Blvd., Arlington

King’s Ransom

Feeling like sushi? Why not do dinner and drinks at King’s Ransom, a cocktail bar that is the best of both worlds for those who like cocktails and sushi. With more than two dozen drinks on the menu, including a spicy green margarita and Fuji apple daquiri, you’re bound to find something you like. Are Old-Fashioneds more your thing? You’re in luck. The menu also includes several versions of the classic drink. Add in the mid-century speakeasy atmosphere, and you’ve got yourself a whole vibe for Valentine’s Day. 728 King St., Alexandria

Peacock’s Champagne Lounge

Why not switch things up and celebrate your love with a little champagne this year? With over 40 bottles of champagne and sparkling wines coming from Italy, Spain, France, and the U.S., the options are endless. Love isn’t the only thing on the menu at Ms. Peacock’s Champagne Lounge. You can also try specially crafted cocktails, cheese or charcuterie boards, and various small plates such as truffle popcorn and mini crab cakes. Located in the back of the Board Room at 929 N. Garfield St., Arlington

MacMillan Whisky Room

Who says whiskey can’t be romantic? Located in Fairfax’s Mosaic District, MacMillan Whisky Room caters to whiskey lovers and boasts a collection of hundreds of whiskeys. Take a walk through their whiskey room before partaking in one of their specialty tastings. Or try one of their whiskey cocktails. Whether you choose something classic like a Manhattan or Whiskey Sour, or something a bit more intriguing like a “Revolver” or “Penicillin,” it’s bound to be a fun evening. 2920 District Ave., Fairfax
