At this self-service dog wash and grooming salon, a selection of top-of-the-line shampoos and conditioners are available for use, as are brushes, combs, towels, and pet-friendly dryers. Staff is on hand in case guests need anything, and there is a time limit of one hour (each additional minute after the first 60 is $2). 11725 Lee Hwy., Ste. A-17A, Fairfax, $19–$28 per dog wash (price varies by weight)

LifeCare Pet Hospital Self-Serve Dog Wash

Keep in mind, the self-serve dog wash station is not available for pets who have been sprayed by a skunk, or pets with parasites like fleas or ticks. All dogs who use the self-serve station must have received the rabies vaccine. Nail trims and anal gland expressions are available at an additional cost. 25150 Loudoun County Pkwy., Ste. 100, Chantilly, $15 per dog wash

Pawsh Dog Wash

Pawsh Dog Wash is conveniently located in Alexandria’s Cameron Station, not far from the Duke Street Dog Park and the Ben Brenman Park. There, you will find large bathtubs at the self-serve stations. The self-serve wash area has shampoo, conditioner, towels, ear wipes, brushes, dryers, and aprons. Grooming packages are also available. 4907 Brenman Park Dr., Alexandria, $16–$20 per dog wash (price varies by weight)

The Muddy Mutt

Guests receive aprons, ear cleaner, brushers, shampoo and conditioner, towels, and professional grade dryers to wash their dogs at this Arlington salon. Team members are on hand to assist in figuring out what type of shampoo is best for your dog. 2603 S. Oxford St., Arlington, $16 per dog, $8 additional for upgrades
