NoVA Pets of the Month: Big Boy, Alexander, and Taki Need Homes

Find the love in your heart to take in one of these three pets.

Every month, Northern Virginia Magazine features a dog and cat that are available for adoption through Northern Virginia animal rescues. May’s featured pets include gentle giant Big Boy and the sociable active pair Alexander and Taki.

Dog of the Month: Meet Big Boy

Big Boy is a 1-year-old Black Mouth Cur/Shepherd that loves to play. His two favorite games are fetch and tug. He is great on walks and hikes and is still getting used to the sights and sounds of the area. Big Boy is treat-motivated and loves his neighborhood dog friends. Big Boy needs an owner who is consistent since he is still young. At 60 pounds, Big Boy would do best in a home with older children.

Cats of the Month: Meet Bonded Pair Alexander and Taki

Little Alexander is a friendly boy that adores attention and loves being petted. Alexander’s best friend is Taki. They became friends in their foster home. It’s recommended they get adopted together. Taki is also friendly and loves giving people head boops.
