What you need to know about tutoring

In an increasingly competitive world, a good education can make a big difference in a child’s future—but even in Northern Virginia, home to some of the nation’s best schools, students and parents want more.

Over time, from kindergarten through college, we all find out that learning some subjects can be tricky and, admittedly, downright impossible without some help and guidance to show us the big picture, the shortcuts or the tricks of the trade.

Sometimes we have to admit that we just don’t get it. There is actual scientific research that backs up our inability to understand. There are neurological measurements of what part of the brain seems to dominate, making someone better in math and science and completely lost in English and writing.

If you live and work in Northern Virginia, chances are you received a good education and you want an even better education for your children: give them a leg up, energize them about learning in general, teach them about learning how to learn.

More, better, faster seems to be what every business and every industry wants these days. Many parents who want to go further with their child’s studies here in Northern Virginia believe that those who can deliver on that need, stay flexible and open to continued learning, will have a better life in all respects.

To get there, they need tutoring—call it an education Plan B—that offers personal and tailored lessons to help a child discover what they can do best and prepare them for greater success in life in a demanding and competitive world.
