Whether your kid dreams of becoming a master Lego builder or just loves constructing new creations, they can showcase their Lego skills at the Mini Master Model Builder competition at the Lego Discovery Center at Springfield Town Center. And this year, the competition is going global.

Through March 2, kids looking to prove they’re the best young Lego builder in the area can participate in the 2025 Mini Master Model Builder competition for chance to win the title of DMV’s Mini Master Model Builder.

This year’s local winner will also create a Lego masterpiece to be displayed at the Home of the Brick Lego House in Billund, Denmark, for the chance to become the first-ever Global Mini Master Model Builder.

Lego House amounts to over 25 million bricks spread across 4 immersive Experience Zones, a multi-sensory Lego Museum, and a Masterpiece Gallery of fan creations. It also contains some of the world’s largest Lego models, including the famous Tree of Creativity, giant dinosaurs, waterfalls, and much more.

There will be plenty of fun activities at the Discovery Center during the run of the contest. Kids can expand their imaginations with fun and interactive activities such as a Lego Fact Finder Hunt, a Color Creations challenge, and the Circle Masterclass, where participants can learn advanced techniques.

Participants can also meet master model builders to learn tricks, contribute to a giant Lego mosaic, and take fun photos with themed props.

DC’s previous Mini Master Model Builder winner, LJ from Springfield, used his creativity to build a toucan with moving wings and a tail. He got the opportunity to shadow professional builders at the Discovery Center.

Tickets to the center are available starting at $26.99.
