Whether you want to catch a drive-in movie or go on a hike with the family, these events will keep the entire family entertained this weekend.

Just because the winter cold has finally settled over Nova, doesn’t mean the fun stops. From outdoor ice skating to a virtual tour of Harry Potter’s U.K., here are six  family activities to enjoy this weekend.

Ice Skating at Ice & Lights: The Winter Village at Cameron Run

Saturdays and Sundays through Feb. 28, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
While the light display might be gone until next November, there is still plenty of time to go ice skating. Since ice time will be limited in order to keep with social distancing guidelines, participants will need to purchase their tickets in advance. Skate rentals will be free during each session. // Cameron Run Regional Park: 4001 Eisenhower Ave., Alexandria; $15

Brunch with the Princesses

Saturday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
The princesses are coming to Occoquan. Let your little ones meet their favorite characters for a sing-along, etiquette class and dancing. Guests will also be served a breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon. // Madigan’s Waterfront: 201 Mill St., Occoquan; $28

Drive-In Movie Series

Saturday, 6-8 p.m.
Spend your movie night at the drive-in. Grab your blankets and dress cozy for a fun family showing of Frozen II. Before the movie starts, guests can grab dinner at the local food truck. // Old Mill Park: 2215 Caroline St., Fredericksburg; free

Virtual Harry Potter Location Tour of the U.K.

Sunday, noon-2:30 p.m.
Escape the muggle world for a trip to Hogwarts. Spend your afternoon on a virtual tour of the locations around the U.K. that inspired the book and movie series. From the spots where J.K. Rowling wrote the book to Diagon Alley, the virtual tour will make you feel like you are inside the wizarding world. // $40

Walk with a Hawk

Sunday, 4 p.m.
Get outdoors this weekend for a hike in nature. This guided walk will teach participants about hawks and their impact on the environment. As you walk the trail, look up for a look at the birds of prey. // Motts Run Reservoir: 6600 River Road, Fredericksburg; $25

Festival Invernale

Through Jan. 23, 4-9 p.m.
Keep the holiday spirit alive at the Winter Festival. Enjoy warm cocktails and drinks as you stay toasty by the fire. Guests can also take festive photos at the interactive stations or visit the Christmas tree and Star of Bethlehem. // Cascades Overlook Town Center: 21453 Epicerie Plaza, Sterling; free admission
