Make gingerbread houses at these 5 events around town

Head to these fun workshops and let the whole family enjoy the age-old holiday tradition together.

Cookie season is upon us! Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and it marks the beginning of the holiday season. Of course, that means that holiday events are popping up across town, including gingerbread house-making classes and workshops. Head to these ones, below, for family-friendly fun.

Gingerbread House Workshop
Saturday, Nov. 23, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 1-2:30 p.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.
Follow the gumdrop tail to The Enchanted Forest, the Junior League of Northern Virginia’s annual fundraising event that features a wide variety of holiday activities for the whole family, including a gingerbread house workshop. Candy, gingerbread houses and all the trimmings will be provided for kids to make their own homes. Children must be accompanied by an adult. // Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel: 900 S. Gingerbread Decorating Class
Dec. 7-22 on Sundays and Saturdays, 9 a.m.-noon

Gingerbread House Decorating ‘Toddler Style’
Sunday, Dec. 8, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m.
At this gingerbread house-making event, the supplies are there for you. Bring the kids to Link Family Fitness Studio for them to create their very own masterpiece. Decorate Your Very Own Gingerbread House
Saturday, Dec. 14 and 21, 1-3 p.m.

Gingerbread Gala 2019
Saturday, Dec. 14, 2-4 p.m.
The Gingerbread Gala at Williams Martial Arts and Fitness will feature not only houses, but also gingerbread men.
