5 upcoming arts and crafts events for kids

Whether your kid just wants to make a craft, or is interested in a full-out event, there’s something upcoming for all ages in NoVA.

Tuesday Special at Glazed Up

Set for Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, the Tuesday Special at Glazed Up will be a fun evening for you and your little ones. Those 12 and under will glaze a small figurine for free with a parent purchase of $18 or more (limited to one free piece per adult purchase). // Glazed Up: 509 S. Main St., Suite 151, Culpeper; $18+

All-American Girl: Living Dolls

Created for ages 5-9, this event will be held on Jan. 25, located at the Sully Historic Site. Bring your favorite doll and explore the life of American girls from different eras in history. There will be crafts, costumes and themed games. // Sully Historic Site: 3650 Historic Sully Way, Chantilly; $35

Crafts & Core, Mommy & Me

Pure Barre Falls Church has partnered with Imperfect Crafting LLC to give mothers and daughters a “power” session, which will include a core workout for mothers, and craft time for daughters. Together, families will engage in an inspirational breakout with refreshments. The Feb. 2 event is open to both Pure Barre members and nonmembers. // Pure Barre Falls Church: 2121 N. Virginia Hands & Voices

Hosted by Virginia Hands & Voices, an organization dedicated to supporting families with deaf children, kids will enjoy creating winter-themed crafts, including Valentine’s Day art. Families of children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing are welcome, as well as deaf adults, and interpreters are available upon request. Space is limited, with a total of 45 free tickets available for the event being held on Feb. 9. // Woodrow Wilson Library: 6101 Knollwood Drive, Falls Church; Free

KidsFest

Held on the Manassas Museum lawn, KidsFest will include more than just arts and crafts for your children. The event, set for May 18, will also feature exhibitors from the DMV area who will host interactive activities and entertainment for families.
