In recent years, doughnut shops have been taking their creations to the next level, creating elaborate versions of classic flavors or new flavors altogether. Here are six local shops offering holiday doughnuts perfect for your next festive get-together — or to treat yourself to a merry little pick-me-up.

Good Company Doughnuts & Café

This family-owned DMV doughnut shop offers 10 different holiday flavors. They include a peppermint hot chocolate yeast doughnut topped with a peppermint ganache drizzle and filled with chocolate pastry cream. And an orange gingerbread doughnut with an adorable mini gingerbread person on top. multiple area locations
