The Hot Chocolate History Tour Guides You Through Alexandria’s Food History

Spend the afternoon learning about the city’s food history with a cup (or two) of hot chocolate in hand.

Longing for a history lesson with a steaming cup of hot chocolate nearby. This month, make that dream a reality by joining Alexandria Food Tours on the limited-edition Hot Chocolate History Tour.

Now in its third season, the two-hour walking tour takes place on Sunday, November 23 at 2 p.m. Guides Hope Nelson and Michael Lee Pope will bring history and hot chocolate enthusiasts to eight different spots around Alexandria. Participants will learn about the history of the city and its restaurants.

Each ticket for the hot chocolate tour includes two cups of hot cocoa – one from Kilwins and the other from Dolci Gelati. Tickets are $35 for ages 12 and older and $20 for children under 12. The meeting place for the tour will be sent after tickets are booked.

If you can’t make it to this month’s Hot Chocolate History Tour, there are additional times on December 14, January 25, February 15, and March 29.

The Hot Chocolate History Tour isn’t the only walking tour hosted by Alexandria Food Tours. Throughout the year, guides host the Old Town Pizza Tour, Hot Off the Press Walking Tour, and the Old Town Coffee Crawl.
