Beginning Thursday, June 5, Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (SNVMC) will host a new farmers market. The market at 2300 Opitz Blvd. in Woodbridge will be open every Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. through September.
“This farmer’s market will benefit the community in so many ways. It offers fresh, nutritious foods as well as goods from local growers and businesses, and supports our regional economy serving as a gathering place where people can develop healthy habits,” SNVMC President Jeff Joyner said in a statement. “I know many people on the hospital team are looking forward to the thriving marketplace that will be available right in our own parking lot on a weekly basis.”
The market will be hosted by Long Family Markets. The Stafford-based, veteran-owned, family business currently runs markets in Stafford and Spotsylvania. According to Long Family Markets’ website, the venues feature more than 100 micro-businesses based within 125 miles of the site offering meats, eggs, seafood, honey, cheese, baked goods, pickles, kettle corn, salsa, candles, soaps, home decor, and handcrafted artisan goods.

It means deepening our connection with the community, strengthening local agriculture, and creating meaningful spaces where people, businesses, and ideas can thrive,” said Robin Long, owner of Long Family Markets.
The farmers market will be located in the general parking lot, adjacent to Opitz Boulevard. It will be open rain or shine and will be handicap accessible.
