Drivers who take Route 28 near Centreville/Manassas take note. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures at Route 28 (Centreville Road). The lane closures will happen during daytime hours over four weeks. They will begin on Monday, March 31, and continue on select days through Thursday, April 24.
The closures are needed for crews to repairs the bridge that runs over Bull Run.
The lane closures schedule is as follows:
- Southbound Route 28 right lane closed: Monday, March 31, through Thursday, April 3, and Monday, April 7, through Thursday, April 10, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily
- Northbound Route 28 right lane closed: Monday, April 14, through Thursday, April 17, and Monday, April 21, through Thursday, April 24, between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
During these lane closures for bridge repairs, VDOT is warning that drivers should expect delays and be prepared to take alternative routes. If you are driving through the area, VDOT reminds drivers to use caution and be alert to the new traffic patterns.
