The campaign, conducted in five waves, started in March. In the last wave, from October 14 to 20, police issued 7,000 citations and warnings. Speeding violations accounted for more than 800 of them.

Over the course of the campaign, Fairfax County officers and Virginia State troopers nabbed hundreds for driving while intoxicated and hundreds for reckless driving.

While the campaign is over, the department reminds drivers its officers will still be on the road “in full force, enforcing traffic laws, educating our community, and ensuring the safety of our roadways.”
