Tickets are now on sale for the 35th annual Fourth of July fireworks at Great Meadow, the home of the Virginia Gold Cup.

The 25-minute drone and fireworks show set to music starts at dusk on July 4.

The 374-acre equestrian event park will host family games, from corn hole to sack races to team tug-of-war.

If the games aren’t competitive enough for you, deck out your vehicle and compete to have the most patriotic tailgate. Or simplify things and compete in the most festive hat competition.

“We have a great line up of activities, entertainment and food for this year’s 35th annual Independence Day Celebration at Great Meadow. It’s the perfect location for families, friends and neighbors to be able to get outdoors in spectacular surroundings and see an amazing drone and fireworks display choreographed to music,” said Cynthia Jeffery, executive director at Great Meadow.

Expect to see vintage biplanes in the air. “We are also excited to have the Flying Circus with their vintage planes,” Jeffery said.

Plus, you’ll be able to watch polo exhibitions.

You can bring your own food to Great Meadow, or buy food from the food trucks there. Plus, there will be a beer garden.

Blankets and chairs may be brought, but don’t bring umbrellas or tents, unless you’ve reserved a tailgate space. No pets, grills, or stoves are allowed.

A general admission ticket for a car with up to six passengers will cost $50 in advance or $60 at the gate. Special VIP passes for cars with up to six passengers will cost $110, but are only available in advance. Tailgate packages for two cars will run $200-plus. Bus and RV passes are available.

The rain date for the fireworks at Great Meadow is Friday, July 5.
