When Jeopardy! fans tune in Thursday night, they will see a Virginia-Maryland matchup — Luigi de Guzman versus Kevin Belle.
The two are competing in the Tournament of Champions, and have become friends over the last month, according to The Washington Post.
De Guzman is an 43-year-old attorney from Arlington. Belle, 38, is a Maryland trail planner from Silver Spring. They will compete against Juveria Zaheer, a psychiatrist from Ontario, Canada.
The two plan to watch the show that was taped in February together in a Washington, DC, bar with family and friends.
De Guzman first appeared on the quiz show in July 2022 and racked up $142,700 in his five wins, according to the show’s tracker. Belle picked up $43,000 in his three wins in April 2023, according to the Jeopardy! tracker.
Neither has let on who won the quarterfinal match. Nine contestants will compete for the tournament’s $250,000 grand prize.
