Wine-Forward Restaurant Sixty Vines to Open in Reston Town Center

The sustainable, wine country–inspired restaurant will bring 60 different wines on tap.

A new spot for wine lovers will open next month in Reston Town Center. Sixty Vines, a wine-focused restaurant with eight existing locations in Florida, North Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee, will open its first Virginia location in Reston on December 19.

“We’re looking forward to opening our first location in Reston, especially so close to Virginia’s own wine country,” said Jeff Carcara, CEO of Sixty Vines. “With Sixty Vines’ pinkies down approach to wine culture, our new Reston location offers a wine country adventure nestled next to the town center pavilion.”

Diners can order from a selection of 60 different wines from around the world that are served on tap, including whites, reds, rosés, and sparkling wines.

The tap system, rather than pouring from bottles, both reduces the restaurant’s waste — each keg of wine holds the equivalent of 26 bottles and can be refilled around 1,500 times — and “offers the closest ‘from the barrel’ tasting experience,” according to a news release.

“Our commitment to sustainability goes far beyond just our tap system,” a statement from Sixty Vines said. “It encompasses a comprehensive approach that extends to all aspects of our operations, from sourcing to education for both our team and our guests.”

Currently, the company said that it utilizes a composting program, recycles its corks, and is conducting a review of its supply chain to find sustainable packaging options and sourcing partnerships. Some of the winemakers featured on Sixty Vines’ menu use sustainable farming practices, including Ridge, Tablas Creek, and Stolpman. On the menu, a green leaf symbol denotes the brands that use eco-friendly practices.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, plus brunch on weekends, with shareable plates designed for communal-style dining. With a focus on seasonally sourced ingredients, the menu will feature custom charcuterie boards, salads, wood-fired pizza, pasta, and seafood entrées.

For non-wine drinkers, there will also be cocktails and mocktails.

The Reston restaurant is located at 11905 Market St., Reston, in a 12,857-square-foot space. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, a bar, and a space for private events.

This is the beginning of a larger expansion from the brand, which expects to open four new locations across the U.S. in 2024, including DC, Miami, San Antonio, and Austin, Texas.
