As the weather gets warmer, going to a brewery is a great way to spend the day. These six family-friendly breweries are scenic, and some are known for their award-winning craft brews. All of them are dog-friendly.
2 Silos Brewing Co.
Beer lovers will appreciate the eclectic mix of craft brews at 2 Silos Brewing Co., located on the 12-acre FarmBrew Live campus at Innovation Park. The brewery won Northern Virginia Magazine’s Best of NoVA category for Best Beer Garden. But it also offers a selection of wines, ciders, seltzers, and cocktails. During high season — starting April 13 through September — Food Truck Alley offers a number of kid-friendly dining options. The Pour House, open year-round, serves classic American cuisine. Bear Chase Brewing Co.
If you’re looking for a place to soak up the sun and enjoy stunning vistas, look no further. This farm brewery offers expansive views of Virginia’s hunt country, both from the covered upper deck as well as the lawn blanketed with Adirondack chairs. Brews include not only its award-winning Koelsch and Oktoberfest, but a wide array of other craft beers. The Grill on the Hill’s menu features tacos, burritos, and burgers. The Farm Brewery at Broad Run
Just a quick hop off if I-66, this brewery seems designed with families in mind. The Farm Brewery offers everything from ales to IPAs, as well as wines and ciders. Food options include wings, charcuterie boards, and weekend food trucks. You can rent out the Brewbarn for events. Families can relax while kids enjoy the playground. Dirt Farm Brewing
Perched on the hillside overlooking the Loudoun countryside the views are unbeatable. On a clear day you can see all the way to Tysons. Whether you’re a lager lover or prefer hoppy IPAs, Dirt Farm has something to fit the bill. The Kitchen Workshop features a rotating seasonal food menu. Lost Barrel Brewing
Just a short jaunt west of Middleburg, Lost Barrel offers hand-crafted brews as well as wine, frozen drinks, and hard seltzers. Its LoCo Kitchen serves artisanal cuisine that incorporates fresh, seasonal ingredients, including gluten-free wraps and flatbreads. Starr Hill Biergarten
For that more urban vibe, head to Starr Hill Biergarten. This outdoor brewery, part of The Perch at Capital One Center, boasts 360-degree views. Star Hill not only offers in-house craft brews and hard seltzers, but wine and cocktails as well. The menu includes a selection for children.
