Keeping It Hot
The awful truth about being a food writer is that we crave what we write about all over again every time we edit a story, share it on social, or are otherwise reminded of the dish. This phenomenon took hold especially hard in the last week as I promoted my story about eating the hottest chicken sandwich in NoVA. But this time when I head to Wooboi Chicken, I’ll probably stick to the level three. –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic
Sledding Season
Last week’s unexpected snowfall really made me miss snow days, when I would spend the entire day sledding in the backyard. While hitting the hills at home is no longer an option, there are plenty of mountain resorts that offer the ultimate tubing experience. My inner child is pulling me back to Liberty Mountain Resort, a Kettner family favorite. –Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor
Kitchen Daydreams
I’ve been going back and forth through these kitchen makeovers, picking out elements I especially like from each and imagining how they would look in my own home. –Kelly Kendall, editor
Touching Tribute
Reston’s celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday will start this weekend, and it looks like an incredible, potentially life-changing couple of days, with talks by political writer Baratunde Thurston and lauded author of The Sum of Us Heather McGhee.–James Finley, senior editor
