After months of working from home, you may have found it difficult to keep your focus. Whether you have kids running around, roommates on Zoom calls or dogs begging to go outside, it can be hard to get the same amount of work done as you did in an office setting. To help with this, Rosslyn BID has announced the opening of O2, a new outdoor workspace in Arlington.
O2, which stands for Outdoor Office, will provide a variety of free office spaces in Gateway Park. The workspace will be open Tuesdays to Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; with possible closures due to inclement weather. Spaces include a greenery cubicle for one, standing desk, office space for two and chair at the counter. At the moment, reservations for office spaces at O2 start on Thursday, Oct. 15.
“We know that safe outdoor public spaces are key to maintaining mental and physical health and helping people feel connected to where they spend their time,” said Mary-Claire Burick, President of the Rosslyn BID, in a recent press release. “O2 is an extension of the wonderful office community we have in Rosslyn and we’re excited to bring it to Arlington.”
While working at one of the O2 spaces, guests will have access to free Wi-Fi, be able to borrow office supplies (like whiteboards) and can bring their dogs along to their session. Guests can also decide how long they would like to work at the outdoor space, by either reserving the minimum 90-minute block or making multiple reservations for a day at the park.
Even though the space is outdoors, there will be precautions in place to keep everyone safe. This includes, placing all furniture and desks at least 6 feet apart, adding sanitizing wipe stations and requiring masks in all common areas. Between reservations, staff will also clean and sanitize each station for the next visitor. // Gateway Park: 1300 Lee Highway, Arlington
