Sip, nosh and celebrate at these 7 holiday brunches

While the holiday season is a time to celebrate with family and friends, it’s also a time for those delicious festive brunches.

It’s the holiday season! And that means food, food and (you guessed it) more food. Enjoy a stress-free afternoon as you feast on traditional dishes, from the honey-glazed ham and creamy whipped potatoes to the beautifully decorated gingerbread cookies and yule log. Whether you plan on dining out with family or just need a break from the holiday stress, stop by one of these seven holiday brunches for a delectable holiday meal.

Holiday Brunch
Sunday, Dec. 1. 7-8, 21-23, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Start off your holiday celebrations at The Red Fox & Tavern’s holiday brunch. Enjoy a scrumptious three-course meal from the festive specialty menu, which includes Virginia peanut soup, cranberry raisin French toast and Southern pecan pie. // The Red Fox Inn & Tavern: 2 E. Washington St., Middleburg; $59 for adults, $19 for children under 10

Santa Brunch
Saturday, Dec. 7, 14 & 21, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Travel over to Middleburg for a special holiday brunch with Santa. Guests will be able to choose their meal from multiple food stations, including the carving station, omelet station and seafood display. After you’re done eating, kids can head over to the design station to make their own ornaments and take pictures with Santa.  // Salamander Resort & Spa: 500 N. Pendleton St., Middleburg; $68 for adults, $38 for children

 Christmas Brunch
Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7 & 8, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
While you are at the Christmas in Middleburg celebration, head over to The Red Fox Inn & Tavern for a delicious three-course brunch. Some of the available dishes include carrot ginger bisque, hickory bourbon-glazed salmon and New York-style cheesecake. A separate children’s menu will be provided. // The Red Fox Inn & Tavern: 2 E. Holiday Brunch
Saturday, Dec. 14, noon-3 p.m.
Enjoy an appetizing holiday brunch as you make your own holiday-scented candle. Sip on bloody marys and mimosas as you create the perfect gift for the holiday season. Brunch prices will be discounted 50% for candle makers. // Mark’s Pub: 2190 Pimmit Drive, Falls Church; $25 for class

Annual Christmas Eve Tasting Menu & Wine Pairing
Tuesday, Dec. 24, noon & 2:30 p.m.
Take your holiday celebration over to The Vineyards & Winery at Lost Creek this Christmas Eve. Guests will be able to savor a heavenly five-course tasting menu paired perfectly with Lost Creek wines. // The Vineyards & Winery at Lost Creek: 43285 Spinks Ferry Road, Leesburg; $85

Christmas Day Brunch
Wednesday, Dec. 25, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Celebrate Christmas day with a delightful brunch spread at the Salamander Resort. The holiday feast will include favorites like a chilled seafood display, signature cheese and charcuterie display and a build-your-own mimosa bar. Christmas Day Brunch
Wednesday, Dec. 25, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
After opening presents, fill those rumbling stomachs with a fancy brunch at The Ritz-Carlton. Rumor has it that Santa and his elves frequent this brunch after a long night of delivering presents. Diners will also have the chance to enter a raffle to win an elegant gift basket or complimentary stay. // The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City: 1250 S. Hayes St., Arlington; $99 for adults, $40 for children ages 4-10
