Virginians could see an increase in their power bills of an estimated $18 per month by 2023. The State Corporation Commission gave the final approval for Dominion Power’s future capital investments throughout the state, which is the alternative to giving its customers yearly refunds. (WTOP)

The Alexandria City Council voted to simplify the design of the Potomac Yard Metro station so the costs would drop from an estimated $75 million to $50 million. The station has sparked several debates since 2018’s initial redesign and the announcement of Amazon’s HQ2. (Alexandria Times)

Loudoun County will break ground on the future site of Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park on Saturday, June 28. The 257-acre park will be operated by the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services and will include 75 acres of passive space, 17 lighted athletic fields and a dog park. Merrifield residents will have access to a new form of transportation: an autonomous shuttle bus traveling to and from Merrifield’s Mosaic District to Dunn Loring Metrorail Station. The year-long pilot program was approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on June 25. (Inside NoVA)
