All that glitters is not … silver. The Silver Line’s new Dulles Airport and Loudoun County locations’ opening dates is delayed. The contractor responsible for the railyard section near Dulles revealed that the construction fell 67 days behind schedule in one month. The completion is now set for July 2020. (WTOP)
Arlington real estate prices are on the rise by 17.2% according to the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors. The median household price was up 9.8% from May 2018 at $615,000, and the Association now predicts a 7% gain in Fairfax County in upcoming months. (WTOP)
Ballston Quarter will be the home of a new pop-up library from July to August. The library will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and could potentially offer visitors access to a small collection of books and audio-visual materials, as well as free-to-use technology and WiFi. Loudoun County Public Schools kicked off its Summer Food Service Program to students across the county who may face food insecurity during the three-month summer break. Breakfast and lunch are available at Leesburg Elementary, Rolling Ride Elementary, Sugarland Elementary and Sully Elementary, and lunch will also be provided at the Sterling Library.
