There’s a good chance that what gets you out of bed in the morning isn’t a frog (unless it’s hopping across your pillow), but your 6 a.m. workout might. Eat the Frog Fitness hopes you’ll want to hop into its personalized 24/7 group fitness workouts coming to Ashburn.

The Washington state-based company is led by Olympic decathlon gold and silver medalist Bryan Clay and Joe Culver, founder and CEO of Thrive Community Fitness, and was inspired by Olympic training workouts, modern technology and classes tailored to individual exercise needs.

The name of the company was inspired by a Mark Twain quote: “Eat a live frog first thing every morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.”

According to the company’s website, the upcoming Broadlands location will offer each member a 30-minute “EFT Fit Test,” a fitness assessment that calculates results to create a customized eight-week guide. Regardless of incoming athletic ability, members are measured for growth throughout the eight weeks and then re-evaluated after the time period ends.

Members will then participate in hour-long personalized workouts during each visit that include the following: “Flexcore” workouts that combine flexibility and core strength, strength workouts through lifting weights and full-body exercises, cardio and stamina exercises through the rowing machine and timed sessions, and recovery time through Trigger Point rollers and stretching routines to help members avoid injury.

Eat the Frog Fitness workouts also incorporate and expose members to modern technology, with a large “IMAX-style” screen during workouts, a mobile app for goal-setting and scheduling and virtual 24/7 access to the training studio.

As of May 23, no official opening date has been announced for the Ashburn location, but those interested can stay up-to-date through the brand’s website.
