The Berkeley to be built on Glebe Road
A 1960s apartment complex is being bulldozed and in its place will rise The Berkeley. Nonprofit developer AHC, Inc., will build the complex at 2900 S. Glebe Road that will house 256 units in two buildings with 155 of the units being affordable housing units. Completion is expected in 2020.

MetroStage location could go to housing
Carr Cos., the developer of 1201 N. Royal St., currently home to MetroStage, is proposing to build residential housing that will still have a focus on the arts. The proposal calls for 90-plus multifamily units, artists lofts, art gallery, roof club, arts walk and two art studios. MetroStage will not be part of the new development, but will instead move to Carr’s Crowne Plaza site on N. Fairfax Street.

672 Flats open in Arlington
More urban dwelling units are available in Arlington with the recent opening of 672 Flats, a project by Linowes Design Associates. A modern aesthetic is compromised of wood-looking porcelain tile floors, medium tone woods and natural split face stones set against a color palette of slate blue and tones of plum, green and gray. Units are offered in both rentable lofts and standard apartment units, and come in options ranging from studio to two-bedroom with loft. Common areas include fitness center, lounge areas, game rooms and is steps from the Ballston Metro.

Senior living options planned for Potomac Yard
A two-building assisted living and memory care community is being proposed for a 2-acre section of Potomac Yard by Silverstone Healthcare Co. One building is slated to house 186 units with 12,085 square-feet of retail; the second building would hold 136 units.
