CUSTOMIZED MASSAGE
“Most clients are coming in because they recognize that regular massage is part of their path to wellness, like going to the gym regularly and eating right,” says Ferdinand. “We have a lot of people who are coming in with injuries and want to get better; they aren’t coming in to treat themselves, they are coming in for specific health reasons.”
Clients at Serendipity Wellness Studio typically seek out the customized therapeutic massage so the service can focus on their trouble areas. They start with a conversation with the therapist and then they work on a plan. “We customize to that particular client to that day’s specific need,” says Ferdinand.

SIGNATURE WINE TREATMENTS
“These completely unique bespoke offerings have evolved out of our partnership with local wineries,” says Spa Minérale’s Stafford. “We hand blend our signature massage oils, body wraps and facial treatments and our proprietary recipes include the addition of wine lees from local vineyards.” The treatments use wine lees (pressed grape seeds and skins) that are derived from the wine-making process and mixed in with the different treatments. “The lees contain natural yeast sugars called polysaccharides, which hydrate and plump the skin, along with nourishing amino acids that contribute to smoother and younger looking skin,” explains Stafford.

AROMATOUCH THERAPY
Essential oils are definitely having their moment, and the aromatouch therapy at Serendipity is one that clients are seeking out for the benefits. “It is an opportunity to help yourself without turning to pharmaceuticals,” says Ferdinand, who notes that her studio is focused on no frills, natural and organic wellness. “There are many benefits. Like lavender, it helps you sleep and calms you down and relaxes you. People are seeking out alternative ways to deal with stuff they are dealing with.”

TREATMENTS TO ENCOURAGE MORE RESTFUL SLEEP
“Whether it is stress, travel through various time zones or over-exposure to technology, spas are offering solutions to get some more zzzz’s, and Spa Minérale at Lansdowne is no exception,” says Stafford. “Our very popular Tranquility Sleep Body Ritual utilizes a synergy of essential oils, Ayurvedic and Indonesian techniques, combined with the use of soft brushes, to gently guide the way to achieve a quiet and peaceful mind and body state. It is recommended for those who feel stressed, are unable to relax and have problems sleeping well.”
