Walk Between Worlds

The Scottish band Simple Minds, behind the hit “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” heard streaming through classic (The Breakfast Club) and modern (Pitch Perfect) filmography is out with Walk Between Worlds, its first album in three years, with lead vocalist Jim Kerr saying the album was inspired by Sly & The Family Stone, and that the songs are “destined to become individual events.”
The Great Alone
On shelves Feb. 6
After her father returns from Vietnam and struggles with finding a steady job, 13-year-old Leni and her family move to Alaska to make a go on the frontier. As they struggle with the climate and lack of resources, they realize the real battle they face is inside the home as Leni’s father continues to deteriorate and she and her mother find themselves on their own.
The 15:17 to Paris
In theaters Feb. 9
Directed by Clint Eastwood, this biographical drama is based on the autobiography by Jeffrey Stern about his and two other’s actions when a terrorist opened fire on a train from Amsterdam to Paris on Aug. 21, 2015, and the three men jumped to action, subduing the terrorist.
The Looming Tower
Streaming on Feb. 28
Hulu takes on the behind-the-scenes contentious relationship between the CIA and FBI during the events that led up to 9/11. Alec Baldwin is set to guest star as former CIA director George Tenet, costarring alongside a big roster including Jeff Daniels, Tahar Rahim and Peter Sarsgaard. This controversial story is based off the Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Lawrence Wright.
