A man accused of assaulting a juvenile in Centreville stole a vehicle; drove to a shopping center; assaulted the driver of a pickup truck; stole said pickup truck; and then crashed the vehicle into a van carrying seven people at the Centreville Road and Frying Pan Road intersection. The suspect, who then fled on foot, was arrested and is receiving hospital treatment. The seven individuals in the van are also being treated at an area hospital. One of the van’s passengers suffered serious injuries.

Late Wednesday, Alabama Republican Roy Moore filed a complaint saying that there were election irregularities that led to Democrat Doug Jones’ Senate race victory. The state’s canvassing board was set to certify Jones as the winner on Thursday.

During the Tuesday rush hour, a man from Alexandria shot at another driver on I-395. A man driving a Jeep Compass nearly hit 56-year-old Adan C. Caraballo’s Ford Fusion when the Jeep attempted to change lanes. After speeding up, Caraballo shot at the Jeep. No one was injured.

Last Thursday, ahead of the holiday, Caliente Houston of Georgia and Kristen Edmond of Missouri were arrested for attempting to sell fake MacBook Pro computers outside of the Springfield Mall. When pulled over for a traffic stop later that day, officers found fake laptops and narcotics in the pair’s vehicle.
